Unmanned weapons systems and advanced weapons to deal with drone threats were the two main focuses of the DX Korea 2020 defense expo, which was held last week in Seoul under coronavirus restrictions, featuring some of the latest products of the South Korean defense industry.

Hanwha, which manufactures anti-missile technologies, presented a new family of laser weapon systems and two drone defense systems – a laser cannon and a system installed on a light tactical vehicle. The company also exhibited equipment for jamming transmissions that is installed in a tactical missile mounted on a vehicle or ship.

Hyundai Rotem exhibited an unmanned vehicle for use by infantry units: a six-wheeled vehicle that travels autonomously or remotely to carry out patrol or observation missions, support medical forces and detect chemical materials.

The LIG Nex1 company displayed an unmanned surface vessel intended for the defense of rivers.
