DX Korea 2018 Early Bird ended with Successful Registration.
Interest in DX Korea 2018 from Korean and International exhibitors have been sizzling. By the end of early-bird registration period as of January 31, 72% of the spaces at DX Korea 2018 have been sold out. Such large escalation in early bird exhibitor registration is due to the results from DX Korea 2016 which the exhibitors have experienced. DX Korea Organizing Committee assess regular registration will end sooner than previously scheduled deadline (May 31, 2018) with such high interest in DX Korea 2018 from companies around the world.

Some of the major companies taking part in DX Korea 2018 include Hanwha Corporation and its major components (Hanwha Land Systems, Hanwha Systems, Hanwha Defense), LIG Nex1, Poongsan, KAI, S&T Motiv from Korea, and for international companies, Alaska Structures, Bohemia Simulations, General Dynamics Missions Systems, BAE Systems, Rafael, and many more have registered for DX Korea 2018.
For International Pavilion, DX Korea 2018 is seeing a large increase in UAE Pavilion, which is more than doubling its size from 16 booths in 2016 to 40 booths. For Korean SME’s Daeji P&I has doubled its size to 30 booths from 2016’s 15 booths, utilizing DX Korea as a major marketing platform to meet defense buyers and increase defense sales.

Despite early-bird registration period ending, DX Korea Organizing Committee is continuously receiving inquiry from other interested companies to take part in DX Korea 2018, and DX Korea Organizing Committee will continue provide much effective and efficient business programs for all participants.

DX Korea 2018 Promotion Committee Meeting Takes Place
Hosted by Promotion Committee Chairman R) GEN Jun-Kyu Jang(Former Army Chief of Staff), DX Korea Organizing Committee held DX Korea 2018 Promotion Committee Meetings on February 1 and February 27.
DX Korea discussed and focused on the various issues from DX Korea’s actual achievements and future development directions including the plans and status of international VIP invitation and exhibitor registration, as well as official events to benefit both exhibitors and buyers. The Chairman suggested proactive solution to major issues with discussion on various programs. In addition, the DX Korea Organizing Committee has appointed R) MG Hyun Soo KIM, who served as the Head of Military Force Policy Bureau at the Ministry of National Defense prior to leaving the military service at the end of 2017, as the committee member of DX Korea 2018. MG Kim stated he will do his best to organize DX KOREA 2018 as a major platform of land defense event in Asia.

The third Promotion committee held on March 27th was first meeting attended by not only DX Korea organizing committee including Chairman Jang Jun-Gyu but also every supporting organizations such as Ministry of National Defense, Republic of Korea Army Headquarters, Republic of Korea Army Training & Doctrine Command, Force Support System Command, Korea Defense Industry Association(KDIA), and KOTRA.

As it was the first time, we have freely exchanged views on the status of cooperation and support for DX Korea. In particular, every member of committee agreed that ROK Army Training & Doctrine Command should conduct a drone-Bot battle development seminar in September, in conjunction with DX Korea and it will expand through the Drone Bot Expo as well as the Future Ground Power Planning Symposium.

ROK Army Training & Doctrine Command to co-host
 “Future Land Forces Development Symposium” with DX Korea 2018
The Army discussed ROK army reform in the first ‘Lieutenant Generals Meeting in 2018 hosted by Kim Yong-woo, Chief of Staff of the Army, at the Army Headquarters on January 15th to boost strong and proud army.
According to a recent announcement, the Ground Operation Command, which will integrate the First and the Third Army Command, will officially launch as of October 1, effecting 60% of Army troops under its command. Army’s reform will consolidate and merge several corps and divisions under its command, and the 'Five Game Changers' including 'Drones', 'Tactical Ground Guiding Weapons' and 'Warriors Platform' will reinforce the power gap between the reduced operational strength.
With this change, DX Korea 2018 is also working to establish a system to become a representative defense exhibition in the field of defense industry, in close cooperation with ROK Army Training & Doctrine Command, to become a platform for introducing technologies leading to future battlefields. The 'Future Ground Power Planning Symposium' is a symposium where Industry, academia, government, and military personnel are presently participating in the military operation and application of the drones protection system(with IoT Technology) and artificial *2016 Future Ground Power Planning Symposium.
intelligence (AI) It will be a place to deeply share opinions on how to utilize superior domestic technologies to maximize power and generate future power.
At the same time, DX KOREA Organizing Committee and ROK Army Training & Doctrine Command will play a pivotal role in solving the gap between the exhibitors and the military by holding the 'Military Utilization Conference', which will a platform of communication and will provide a more efficient way to maximize the performance of the exhibitors.
DX Korea 2018 to send out 2nd wave of International  VIP
& Delegation invitations
DX Korea Organizing Committee has received International VIP request from participating exhibitors in October 2017. After receiving request and examining the candidates, DX Korea selected 22 international delegation groups from 20 countries. DX Korea Organizing Committee was careful in selecting international VIP delegation group, as the selected delegate must benefit all the exhibitors, not just an exhibitor who requested for VIP. What is special about DX Korea 2018 is that the committee works to invite delegation, which genuinely benefits the exhibitors to increase their sales and promotion, as well as to establish export outcome.

For companies not registered for DX Korea 2018 in time to request international VIP delegation may submit request to DX Korea Organizing Committee at dxkorea@dxkorea.org. Invited delegation who has been selected by DX Korea Organizing Committee will be occupying VIP lounges to attend G2B and G2G meetings with participating exhibitors, and DX Korea 2018 will continue to include business meeting with exhibitors.

DX KOREA 2018 to co-host DroneBot Expo 2018!
ROK Army is highly focused on established combined DroneBot (Drone + Robot) weapons systems. At “DroneShow Korea” held in Busan on January, ROK Army set up promotional booth to introduce latest defense drone technology to decrease battlefield casualties, combat personnel reduce, and increase combat capability. As well as recruit soldiers specialized for drone operation. Army wishes to increase public interest in drone battle capability through establishing network between Academia, Industry, Research and Military in drone industry, As the demand for drones in the military continues to increase, DX Korea Organizing Committee, which has co-hosted “Robodrone Korea” in 2016, has changes its title to “DroneBot Expo 2018” and is in cooperation with ROK Army and associated industry members. DroneBot Expo 2018 will display domestic and international drone products as well as cohost the event with KODEF (Korea Defense & Security Forum) to host forum and seminar. Side events will include recon drone testing and drone filming contest, as well as indoor mini-drone experience.

SDD (Seoul Defense Dialogue) in conjunction with DX KOREA 2018
Recently, the security situation of the world has conceived as a multilateral security dialogue such as the Seoul Security Dialogue, which is difficult to cope with at the individual country level.
Resulting from the demand for multilateral dialogue through the Northeast Asia Peace Consultation and Northeast Asia Security Dialogue proposal, Seoul Defense Dialogue has held since 2012.
The Ministry of National Defense, hosting the Seoul Defense Dialogue and DX KOREA Organizing Committee will hold DX KOREA 2018 and SDD together in accordance with such security situation and decided to establish good environment for better communication of the security system of the Republic of Korea.
In addition, more than 100 defense ministers from 50 nations participating in Seoul Defense Dialogue will visit the DX Korea event venue to boost exchanges among participants and overseas military personnel.

More Apaches requested by ROK Army, 'Tanks in the Sky'
According to the Ministry of National Defense Reform 2.0, which the ROK government is promoting, ROK Army has taken a stride toward buying more Apaches. In January, the Army acquired all of the Boeing-produced Apaches (36 helicopters) and deployed them in two squadrons. The ROK Army's Apache is the latest AH-64E Apache Guardian model, equipped with air-to-ground and air-to-air missiles as well as latest fire control and survival equipment. Day and night and all-weather operations are possible.
Defense Acquisition and Program Agency’s latest weapons acquisition plan
Minister of the Defense Acquisition Program Administration announced a project for Foreign Purchasing Program of Special Operations Grenade Launcher. It is a program to acquire the Special Operations Grenade Launcher through Foreign purchasing that concentrates on the firepower successively while Korean Special Operations Forces perform missions. The contract type is open competition and contract by negotiation. DAPA will select candidates based on its evaluation of the proposals submitted by the proposing companies qualified to participate. DAPA will then conduct T&E and negotiation with the candidates. Once negotiations and T&E are completed, DAPA will selected the source via “minimum costs given that the requirements are met.”
Defense Acquisition Program Administration also announced they will be spending 1.9 Billion USD to acquire new MPA (Maritime Patrol Aircraft). MPAs will scan, target and track down enemy submarine as well as other maritime threats. Minister of National Defense, whose prior position was Chief of Staff of the Navy, has made decision for such purchase of MPA in February.
