The STOB(Seoul Tech Ostrich type Biped robot) is a bipedal robot that can select a movement mode which are Walking mode, and Wheel-Driving mode. It is designed for the purpose of optimizing movement by changing the movement mode according to the terrain. The STOB consists of a rigid body, two legs and four wheels for riding modes. Each leg has 6 degrees of freedom consisting of Hip roll/pitch/yaw, Knee pitch and Ankle roll/pitch joints. Each joint uses QDD(Quasi Direct Drive) to achieve light weight and high torque. It uses the Up^2 board as the main computer unit, and it controll whole robot at 500Hz. The STOB collects data from the body's IMU and load cells on the tip of the toe and heel to estimate and control the posture and center of gravity of the body.
